1960s photographer Brian Duffy picks up camera 30 years on

But one day in 1979 he took his negatives into the back garden of his Hampstead studio and burned the lot.

Only recently has he got back behind the camera, to take new pictures of some of the stars he captured decades ago, including Lumley.

Speaking publicly for the first time about why he burnt his pictures, Duffy, 76, said he could not stand advertising photography, which was "99.9 per cent of my work".

Matters came to a head when a studio assistant asked him if they had any toilet paper.

In a BBC4 documentary, The Man Who Shot the Sixties, to be broadcast on Wednesday, he recalled: "I realised within a flash, a trice, that I was now commander-in-chief, managing director, senior partner, making decisions about toilet paper ,and I thought 'This has got to end'."

He recently put on an exhibition of his work, his first ever, at the Chris Beetles gallery in St James's, London, after his son Christopher tracked down his archive from magazines and other clients. Duffy could not attend due to poor health.

Bird Cage Stand: Essential Bird Supplies for Your Feathered Pals ...

Taking care of birds at home can be a very rewarding experience. Many people choose birds as pets since they can be fairly easy to maintain, especially with the right care and bird supplies at hand. Whether you want to breed parrots and lovebirds, or simply want to take care of a cockatoo, securing the needed supplies should be given top priority.

Why buy a bird cage stand

One of the most important things to secure for your feathered friend is the bird cage. The cage is where your pet will feed, play, and stay for most hours during the day. The placement of the cage is also important to avoid suffocating your pet and using up unnecessary space. A stand for your bird cage can easily solve your dilemma. Here are the reasons why:

First of all, a bird cage stand allows you to be at eye level with your pet. Some specific breeds love interaction, so it is important for them to feel at home with their surroundings. Some species enjoy being around people, so placing the cage at a comfortable eye level will keep them entertained. Placing the bird cage a few feet above the floor may suffocate your pet and expose them to danger like rodents and other predators.

If you like to keep a bird as your pet but you also want your home to look organized all the time, you need to find a good stand for your cage. Placing the bird cage anywhere, whether on top of a table, on the floor, or in your porch can be messy. Furthermore, it can distract your bird, leading to restlessness.

Buying a bird cage stand

When shopping for these stands, make sure that you shop around first before buying. Typically, these stands are sold in stores that make available a range of bird supplies. If you end up getting a small stand, this may not accommodate your bird cage. On the other hand, a bulky stand can eat up more space than necessary. Getting one in the right size is crucial.

One of the essential factors to consider when buying a stand is the floor size of your home. If you are trying to save on space, you can try hanging the cage on the porch or choose a stand that has compartments for other bird essentials.
