Help: Cat has stopped using the litter box.?
Key Information:
- Still pee's in it (thank god & knock on wood) just won't poop there.
- Poops nearby - next to - or in the other room.
- Started not long after moving - and after moving in with a new cat.
BUT WAIT - this is unique for some reason.
- Cat has lived in four different houses and has never had a problem before.
- Cat was forced to live with a strange cat before and never had a problem.
- The cat she lived with before was waaay meaner to her and was an un-spayed female with attitude.
-They still shared litter boxes without issue.
-Current cat she is living with is a neutered male - whose a little territorial but frankly they get along way better than she and the last cat ever did.
- Cat is 6 1/2 - spayed - female
- I have not changed brands of cat litter for several years - she's used to the pine stuff.
-Have thought about trying arm and hammer that she used as a kitten - but don't want to make things worse.
-Wondering if male/female issue but both are fixed?
Two boxes - just no way to make them each use their own.
wow, idk I had that problem for a little while with my cats (male and female both fixed) But the problem was the litter box. We had just bought a automatic one, and it freaked our cats out and for a while they wouldn't use it. Better now though. I would assume in your case it is a male/female issue. They probably look like they get along to you, but are probably more territorial than you think. Maybe just try (i know you said you did, but maybe seperate rooms?) seperate litter boxes. idk tough situation! good luck!
