my dog is a kelpie x dobermann and is very over excited! should i get my dog a dog jacket thing tough she is inside most of the time but has no blankets coz she ruined them!
I don't think your dog would need one. Unless it has really thin hair and the weather is so cold its almost snowing. Dogs are hardy creatures. A kelpie cross doberman should be tough enough to survive the cold. Have a look at her when you take her outside next time. Is she shaking, and I don't mean the slightest miniscule thing you only notice when your ten millimeters away. Just look down at her from your height and if you can see she is visibly shaking as if she is getting zapped by an electric circuit than yes you hsould get her a coat. However, don't get her one unless you absolutely have to, dogs are tough and they don't react to pampering the way we do. Getting her a coat will just make her even more susceptible to the cold. If it's often cold she'll actually get used to it, she'll climatize. I personally don't approve of anyone who pampers their dogs with jackets and stuff, especially if its a working breed which is what kelpies and dobermans are.

Since I was just throwing on a coat, I assured them I didn't require a dressing room. Or delousing, for that matter. “Daniel Hechter? and more »
