I'm nuts about my dog too, but I probably would have left the Go 2 Pup in the truck if I were headed to Coach Sark's office and taken him for a swim later, down where they rent out those canoes by the shellhouse.
Not Jake, he walks in with his happy-go-lucky 7-month-old chocolate Lab, tells Steve Sarkisian and offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier that he's staying, and before you know it, his pup's licking UW AD Scott Woodward.
That was all I knew about Locker's dog before I called his dad last month. I made the call because something this impertinent unleashes my inner newshound -- I had to be the first with the scoop on Locker's dog, Ten, named for the number on his owner's jersey.
When Scott Locker returned my call, he was laughing, no doubt at the absurdity of my request. But I take my scoops where I can get them -- Kirk Herbstreit can break the story about Locker coming back; I'll give you the lowdown on his dog.
Scott Locker gave me a few details before passing the phone to Jake, who was watching Cal getting clobbered by Utah in the Poinsettia Bowl. Locker is expected to speak to the media about his decision to return later this week, but made an exception for the Go 2 Guy because I'm really important…actually, he made the exception as long as I only asked him questions about his dog.
