Big city groomer brings her shears south
Monica Loveall, owner of Dapper Dogs, brings 12 years of grooming experience to Santa Rosa Beach.
Loveall, her husband Lincoln, and daughter Ainsley, moved to Walton County three months ago from the Kansas City area.
“We were tired of the snow,” she said. “So we decided to move to Florida.”
Loveall opened Dapper Dogs a few days before Thanksgiving.
“The name came from a friend of mine,” she said. “I was asking for suggestions and this is what she came up with.”
While she enjoys the freedom she has owning her own shop, “it was not in the plan.”
“I never thought that I would own my own business,” she said. “This is something I had to do when I moved here. I wanted to be able to go to my daughter’s plays and pick her up from the bus stop.”
Dapper Dogs offers full-service pet grooming, which includes washing, cuts and styling.
“We don’t do show cuts,” Loveall said. “What I do is clean, cute and makes your dog smell good.”
