Rope Dog Collars - Dog Supplies

Why does my dog eat weird stuff?

I have a pitbull/lab female dog who is gonna be 1 year but she eats stuff like rope toys, my other dogs collar, and kinds of stuff why?
Also she licks her foot a lot and I heard that's caused by anxiety and I don't know why she would have anxiety?

Puppies chew to relieve sore teeth, which she still may have from teething.

Licking paws is a sign of allergies.

ADDED: Sorry for the short answer, I didn't have much time to write.

Anyway, try getting all kinds of durable rubber toys, toys you can hide tasty treats in and stash them around the house. That will keep her mind busy. Try bathing her in oatmeal sensitive skin shampoo, that might help with the allergies.

You can also take a hollow rubber treat and fill it up with peanut butter, freeze it until it's solid and let her have it. The cold will sooth her teeth and because it's frozen solid it will take her awhile to eat it all.

How much exercise does she get? She maybe bored. A good rule of thumb to follow is if the dog is worn out, she's happy.

Also, is she on a well balanced diet? A poor diet results in allergies and a bad coat. There should be no corn, grain or wheat in your dogs food. The first 2 - 3 ingredients should be a named meat or meat meal. personally, I go with Innova EVO. It does seem more expensive to just look at the price, but when fed properly I find that it actually matches up with popular brands like Pedigree, Purina, Puppy Chow, Iams ETC, Which aren't good foods at all.

Controlling your dog will lead to better hunting

Winter is an ideal time to work with your dog on control issues. Whether you have a hunting dog or just a playful house mutt, there comes a time when controlling your dog is critical to either protecting them from harm or becoming a better field partner.¬

There are two commands that are absolutely essential. The first is "whoa" and the second is "come". Almost every other direction you will give your dog is built off these two basic ideas.¬

Rule No. 1: Training must be fun and it has to be done in very short time intervals. The dog should see this training as a game. Dogs, by their very nature, want to please their owners. They seek your approval. By understanding what it is exactly you want your dog to do, there are easy tricks to get them to do exactly that.

Rule No. 2: Consistency is the key to success. Accepting nothing less than perfection on even the littlest points builds confidence in the dog. They need to understand exactly what you want and you must signal that every time you work together. If you are inconsistent or accept less than perfection, they get confused and discouraged. And, as you build to complicated tasks, the very basic steps must be learned completely.

Leather Dog Collar | About Your Dog

Looking for a leather dog collar ? There is no shortage of High Street shops and online stores stocking dog collars. Some concentrate on basic, everyday designs for the no-nonsense dog and his owner. Others specialising in designer dog fashion tend to go in for more bold and dramatic styles.

But whatever the design or expense, the two most important factors to consider are security and durability.

Emboldened with the family crest

Traditionalists will always prefer a brown or black leather dog collar.

This doesn’t mean that leather dog collars all have to be boring. Far from it. They come in as many shades as the rainbow, with prices ranging from affordable to astronomic.

Styles vary, too. Status-conscious owners might care to know that these collars can even come emboldened with the family crest. And while it is also possible to have the dog’s name engraved on his collar, it’s not always a good idea because if ever the animal were to be abducted, the perpetrator of the crime would know his name.

Identifying a valued friend to all and sundry is definitely not advisable.

Rhinestone cowboy

You fancy a diamante, a pink, or maybe even a red leather dog collar?

No problem. All are available at the click of a button.

Your dog is sees himself as a rhinestone cowboy? Treat him to a rhinestone collar!

He’s black, and you can’t see him when you’re out in the dead of night? Then what he needs is a reflective dog collar. These come in the unmistakeable bright green-yellow shade that stands out in the dark.

Some of these collars have flashing lights that leave no-one in any doubt as to who’s approaching.

Pet accessories

One online accessory store, Hamish McBeth, has a comprehensive stock of pet accessories ( www.hamishmcbeth.com ). These include luxury custom leather dog collars, waterproof raincoats for those rainy days and woolly jumpers for when our four-legged friends have been moulting. Or perhaps just shivering in the snow.
