betta fish?
why do people feel the need to say betta fish? is there another betta? like betta cats? I just don't understand it, people don't say zebra danio fish... so why the need to add fish on the end of betta? if they feel the need to specify why not betta splenden?
yeah, I'm bored and sick, and this question has been bugging me for a while. shed some light on the issue at hand for me?
alright, so I can understand if you're asking in a store or talking aobut it to people, but in the FISH section, why would you need to say it? and this is a LOGICAL question, we're in the fish section, what else would you be talking about?!
also, to the person who said about the greek letter, that beta, this is betta and they aren't pronounced the same.
To Mia, no they do not sound the same. Two t's make a short e.... as in better, setter, wetter, letter, etc.
The proper pronunciation is bet-tay, not bay-tah.
BTW, beta is not the second word in the Greek alphabet, it is the second letter...
I guess the reason for people saying "betta fish" is that they are in the vast group of people who don't really pay attention to what is told to them and don't really read what is put in front of them to read. I GIVE YOU................ the spoiled people of the United States, the privileged, the always right, the egotistical self centered masses, those who can do no wrong and can do whatever they want with no consequences. Their parents either didn't care or gave up and decided it was easier to let them off than to discipline them.
Kylie, I had a betta cat once, she was betta dan all dem udder cats put togeddar. Sorry to hear you are sick, hope you get betta.
