Sun Sun Aquariums - Fish Supplies

I have my aquarium outside in my balcony where the sun hits it about 10 hours a day there is an awful amount?

of algae. Would it be becuase of the sun ther is alot of algae in my tank ? Plz Solutions to this problem i used the algae free drops it dont help thank YOu!

Fishes are not born for indoor temperature and light controlled room. They do not come from such conditions, we make them adopt to such conditions. In normal and natural conditions, fishes live in water where the sun hits it for about 10-12 hours with various kinds of temperature. So you have actually created a natural athosphere for your fish, but algae could always remain a problem as you pointed out.

Saying the above, it is still unknown, wherever you stay, what kind of solar heat hits the aquarium. If you are in the middle east, it would be awfully strong and can hurt your fishes, while if you are in europe or asia, it should be ok during most part of the year. Sunlight will also help you to grow better and brighter plants in your tank, and create a natural atmosphere.

Aquarium eyed for CN Tower site

Believe it or not, a Ripley’s aquarium at the base of the CN Tower is probably going to swim, not sink.

Toronto and East York community council yesterday told staff to move forward with public meetings about the plan to build a nearly 200,000-sq.-ft. aquarium on a large vacant site at the foot of the CN Tower.

The public meetings are required before the city can change the designation of the lands to allow for the aquarium and retail uses.

Ripley’s Entertainment, which runs two other aquariums in Tennesee and South Carolina, was chosen last year by the federal agency responsible for the CN Tower to develop plans for the site.

The Toronto aquarium — on the east side of the tower — would be Ripley’s biggest, and would also include a 50,000-sq. ft. retail and restaurant complex on the west side of the tower.

Tim O’Brien, vice-president of communications for Orlando-based Ripley’s Entertainment Inc., said the firm is “really excited” about the plan and is finalizing plans in anticipation of council’s support.

When you get old like me you learn to love anything that makes pwc's easier. Taking care of a 14g and 10g is easy; doing a change on a 29g, 30g and two 55g tanks with a Python is a necessity for me. There have been times that trying to pick up even a gallon of water was pure torture (I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis early last year; there were times that I could not use my hands). Say another question? how do you use the python? I mean don't you just replace the tank water with straight up tap and THEN add dechlor to the tank? how do the fish take it? or do you move the fish out when you do that water change... in that case how do the inhabitants of the tank take the temporary chlorine? like plants/inverts...
