A few questions about setting up a 2.5 gallon freshwater tank...?
I have:
Betta water conditoner
Ph test kit
Tetra brand up to 3 gallons whisper filter
Elite 799 air pump
Top fin small strip aquarium thermometer
Top fin bacteria supplement
Top fin 8in plants
Junior Heater
Top fin aquarium gravel
Top fin ornament (to be connected with air pump)
2.5 gallon glass aquarium
Twix candy bar
I have a few questions:
How should I wash my aquarium?
How do I get the sticky stuff from the barcode sticker off of the glass?
Should I have all of my items inside the aquarium while cycling?
How do I go about cycling with a bacteria supplement?
Is a Ph test good enough to use, or must I get separate ammonia and nitrate tests? And if so, exactly which kind would be best?
I have no extra tube to connect my ornament to my air pump, would it be alright to wait until my tank is finished cycling, then put in the ornament right before the fish?
I am unsure about the quality of this thermometer, has anyone had one before and would like to comment on it?
The wires are too thick to put in the tank with the glass canopy, and I heard bettas jump in their tanks, what would be a better alternative?
And for fun, have you ever bought candy from a pet store? If so what kind and why?
Thank you in advance!
Twix candy bars are my favorites. lol
To wash, I would just scrub it down with one of those kitchen scrubbers in the sink with hot water.
I scrape the sticky stuff off with a carpet cutter blade.
Ph is good to have but Nitrate and Ammonia are essential, as well as nitrite. API is a good brand... The little boxes are better than the test strips IMO, but use what you want...
Yeah you can add and take away decorations as you please.
I like those thermometers, i always double check with 2 types though.
Bettas arent really jumpers but i would just let the canopy sit on top of the wires.
Hope i answered some of your questions!
Oh and i bought Mike and Ikes at a pet store one time. XXD
